I usually use Google maps which will alert you audibly if there is a slow down ahead (it’ll actually tell you how many minutes) and will give you an option to switch routes if it deems another route faster at the time.

FWIW, the position was not a position where those tasks were part of the job, so they weren’t totally expected. I was just hoping for them. How much unexpected work a person does is tied to things like raises and bonuses, though.

The “pre-Pixel” era was the Nexus era and it was alive and well when the Google Edition phones were available. I’m just saying it’s a shame that we can’t get a Google Edition S9 these days.
