It's not just turning a blind eye. It's treating Internal Affairs the same way drug dealers treat snitches. It's NYPD officers turning their backs on Di Blasio because he pointed out that his son won't be treated the same way he is.

Man, I have a friend who's a cop and while he's generally a great guy and he's serious about his mission to serve and protect, but he's a total Thin Blue Liner, and it's impossible to have an honest conversation about police reform. He has a total blindspot for how the bad cops reflect on the police in general, how

Please shut the fuck up you mindless drone. Stop parroting every thing you hear on Fox News.

......who would most likely be subjected to worse acts of abuse than we could ever imagine if he snitched or went against the grain of his fellow officer(s). You know DAMN WELL, if this wasn't on camera, this police department would have pulled a "well, we're innocent" act. Give me a break.

And white people are more likely to kill white people. What is your point? It has nothing to do with this story. I grew up in a medium sized town in WI and most murders of black people were done by black people. Wanna know why? Most of them lived near and around each other for socio-economic reasons. My best guess is

Your dad was wrong. Most all LEO's are bad because they turn a blind eye to the truly bad LEO's or cover for them.

Because I know that someone in the comments will talk about how dangerous it is to be a police officer, just wanting to come home alive, etc.

It is more dangerous to be employed as a landscaper in America than it is to be employed as police officer. This is a fact that is true and is verifiable.

So it garnered about as much interest as “500 Days of Kristin”?

That passage makes me wonder if that person has ever been to another college anywhere in the United States.

“Bg is a rare town. It is one of the few universities that have immediate access to bars within walking distance of the campus.”

White Men Can’t Grope

Bowling for Concubine

Two things are possible for this to be all true:

Rent out half the island to a Bond villain.

Calm down, Ayn Rand. They fell behind the rest of the world through a combination of choice and the fact that oh, yeah, it’s kind of hard to build things when you’re on a tiny-ass island and don’t have access to millions of pounds of metal.

How would capitalism between islanders have changed the central facts that led to this situation? The isolation is the central factor here, how they choose to interact economically with each other on the island wouldn’t change anything.

All I can think of is that there are around 300 people...dating on that island must be a bitch. It doesn't say what the demographics are, but say 100 people are within your dating age range, and half of them are of the opposite sex...50 first dates and you’re out of options. Plus what do they do for emergency medical

I believe their lack of natural resources (intellectual capital included) has caused them to fall behind more than their form of government. The island also demonstrates that communism works when your survival depends on it — not that there’s anything wrong with capitalism ;).

As small as the world has become in my daily life and travels, I find ‘pockets’ like these fascinating.

I can come up with crazy ass shit and get people to believe me too. I really need to start a religion.
