I played and loved Toy Soldiers. It has a lot of elements of Toy Soldiers, but you do not control individual turrets. You are always in control of your mech. You throw turrets wherever you want (for the most part) and they are always autonomous. The can easily be upgraded and each emplacement (turret) has three

You can play the entire game solo if you want. It gets pretty tough in the later levels when you are defending multiple objectives, but it is 100% soloable if you experiment a little with loadouts and emplacements to find just the right combo for success.

There are a lot of factors to consider. Budget, manufacturer preference, performance expectations, size, etc.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is one of the best platformers ever made in my opinion, plus there are many very well done platformers on the XBLA and PSN.

I, too, rushed out day one and waited in line for hours for the Wii. I have played maybe 5 games total on it, beating only 2. The rest of the time it has either sat unused (and unplugged) for months at a time or it has sat in a box in the closet (where it currently sits). I simply couldn't get past the horrible,

My childhood best friend and I would set up a stage and with folding chairs in front of it and lip-sync all the songs on this amazing album for our families. I had the vinyl.

Uh, DS games (in fact all Nintendo portable games) have always been like this (minus the not deleting part). Where have you been living?

I don't care who you are or where your video game allegiances or fanboyisms are, you can't deny that that looks like so much fucking fun.

Yes, you should. Great game.

So basically Nintendo launched the system too early with major features missing or in the works with a launch library that was severely lacking and they wonder why sales have been far less than anticipated? Shocking.

I cancelled my preorder of Little Big Planet 2 a week after the game came out. It is very doable.

I'm sorry, but the Zelda image should have R2-D2 and C-3PO next to Obi-wan. Just sayin'.

I don't think I even understand what the Captain is trying to say.

No, preorders help the publisher with marketing data, demand (or lack thereof), statistics, advertising efforts and financial outlook for shareholders. In short, it is hugely beneficial to publishers to have strong preorders, hence the incentives rewards from them for doing so.

Are you actually saying that you are going to wait for word of mouth and reviews for BF3? Seriously?

If it is retailer specific, then I retract what I said. Retailer specific preorder bonuses are whack.

Preorders can also be cancelled at any time with no risk to you. If you were dumb enough to preorder Duke Nukem sight unseen, you deserve to get shafted.

You know that you can walk into Gamestop (or any other retailer) right now, plunk down $5 and preorder the game. Then every 2 weeks you bring $5 into the store and put it on your preorder. By the time the game ships, it is paid in fll and you'll never even notice the money gone.

What is the big deal about preordering? If you plan on getting the game, why would you not preorder it? I swear, it seems like people just love bitching and complaining about useless shit.
