You couldn't be more wrong.FFXI is a console MMO first and foremost and later put on pc. The thing with FFXIV is they tried to make is as different from FFXI as possible.They moved away from a lot of the things that are great in FFXI. That was the problem.It had nothing to do with "consolification".

Hell i'd go farther then "Not bad". This is a pretty damn good blend of WoW, Guild Wars 2, FFXI, Ultima. If anything Yoshida has shown that he "gets" MMO's and why the most successful ones were in fact successful. I'm not saying it will be a WoW killer but it will be a damn good effort(after an abysmal 1st attempt).

I'll be brave and go right past "not bad at all" to "genuinely good". :p

Too bad really. I'm in the Beta for XIV and it's not bad at all. It's still an MMO and stinky with all that entails but honestly its a fun game you can play.

Good friend of mine played 1.0 and thought it was pretty bad, and got invited back to try the beta and said that it was 100x better. I'm looking forward to giving this a shot.

I know we all hate Squeenix with a passion right now. But their MMOs are kick ass(given this one is finally ready). And since having been a citizen of Vana'diel before, I can tell this will be much awesomer. AND, it's on PC too so I'll be able to play with my PC gaming brethren(and sisteren?)!
