Because of Microsoft. They won't allow a player to use their live system to play an MMO for free. One much purchase a gold live sub along with the MMOs full price sub too.

The entire UI is scale-able and possible to move around and resize each element ala Rift. These videos are showing the game running with such a large UI so its legible and people can understand whats going on.

Well they did redesign the combat based on user polls & feedback over the past 2 yrs. This is what everyone wanted. Assuming you havn't played the alpha yet, its actually quite well done for as limited as its been.

Yup, the UI is fully configurable similar to Rift.

Toshi, there is no PS2 version in the West. Square-Enix dropped support of the system everywhere but Japan. The US & EU are only getting a PC and 360 option.

Quite a few in Japan still, but not so much elsewhere. SE had a system poll early last year and decided that there were not enough players to continue support of the PS2 outside Japan.

There is an English trailer too, released at the very same time. Apparently Toshi decided that posting the Japanese version on an English website was the better option...heh
