There will always be an imbalance between how clean different roommates want the house, and how much work different roommates are willing to put into it. Doesn't make them bad people, although their are extreme situations. One friend of mine has been both the clean roommate and the messy roommate in different

Multiple undoes, yes, but it's more comparable to Wordpad than to Word

My wife uses MSN Messenger (or whatever it's called now) at her current workplace and she did at her last workplace. I use Trillian exclusively to communicate with her when she's at work, because then she doesn't have to have a Twitter, Facebook, or Google window up. Messenger is up on all of her coworkers screens

Well, incomprehensible writing is not something I'm usually accused of, but in my defence, I was pretty sick and woozy and my eyes were/are swollen.

The future always looks brighter when lit by a burning bridge!

Cooking rice is only marginally more difficult than boiling water, I can't imagine ever actually burning it

But I like clumpy rice!

I love Lion, it runs way better than Snow did on my mid-2008 (pre-unibody) Macbook Pro

Previously you could skip updates, but for some mysterious reason Lion 10.7 needs to be installed on top of Snow leopard 10.6. The Mountain Lion installer may or may not have that requirement, I don't know. Luckily Snow is only $29. You should of course check the specs of her MBP before upgrading at all, if her system

I don't think I've ever had a problem with iTunes on a mac. On Windows, yes, but never on a mac. AS for browsers, after I upgraded to Lion, Chrome and Firefox got so dodgy that I decided to switch back to Safari for a couple months to give them a chance to sort themselves out, and I found that Safari is nowhere near

Agreed, recalibrate before trying a physical intervention. I did this with an iPod touch and it fixed it perfectly.

Really baby, that's not mine. This sort of thing ain't my bag, baby

I do that too. I have only two styles of socks and multiple pairs of each. Works like a charm

I did something similar with Kitchen gadgets. My wife loves kitchen gadgets, and I think almost all of them are poor substitutes for a good sharp knife. Plus people know I like to cook so every christmas I end up with new unitaskers. One day I dumped all the kitchen unitaskers into a box in the basement pantry and

I have that exact sock! In fact, I think that IS my sock!

No worries, whoever built my house decided to install switched outlets instead of proper fixtures, and most of these are on the power bar with that room's light. If the room is not in use, then the backup chargers are not in use. The bedside chargers aren't on switched outlets though

Going in the opposite direction, I have a phone charger in all the commonly used rooms, including one cord that peeks out between two books on a bookshelf.

I picked up a car charger at Circuit City that has two USB ports on it. Get two of those! (Assuming all your stuff is USB)

You'll probably find that the "fancy" oatmeal is a lot cheaper by volume. But, if you've got money to burn and your willing to dish out for the instant stuff, that's your prerogative, Mr Moneybags! :)

They sell slow cookers without timers?
