Were there any boat scenes in the Gears 3 trailers? Seriously, I'm asking.

I assume the majority of the decisions won't come into play until the later parts of ME3. After all, what's the point of playing the card with regards to the Rachni until the end of ME3? they're mentioned in ME2 - but the game assumes you killed them if you didn't import a save, just like they assume you put Udina in

The point of Mass Effect is that those choices will have an impact later. I'm not claiming ME2 is as in-depth as something like the Witcher. At the end of the day ME3 will probably come down to either winning or a non-standard gameover. But the things you do can shape the world you're playing in, providing different

Minor consequences, like the death of characters, the possible extinction of an ancient race, and other factors that probably won't be felt until we import our savefiles into ME3.

I have upgraded my stance on X-Com from "no way in hell" to "cautiously optimistic".

I recall Bungie having no control over the pricing, but the game was also considerably larger than what they had originally had in mind, as well. As far as I recall it was originally intended as DLC.

If the multiplayer runs on the Reach engine it's still going to have bloom - which was always there all along anyway, you just couldn't see it.

What about Blood Gulch/Coagulation? Haemmorhage in Reach just does NOT cut it.

It was going to retail for $40 when it was going to be a mid-size expansion. The finished product was larger than they originally planned.

Apparently they've already said they'll fix the chief after the massive earthshaking felt from Halo fans simultaneously saying "what the hell?" around the world.

Pity. My wife is pretty psyched for it. She was awake and watching the briefing at 2am or whatever and came running in to wake me up and tell me all about it.

This is partially present in Xbox Games - I guess. You can earn avatar items for some game achievements. It's gradually becoming more common, so far I have unlocks for Limbo, Blur, Halo Reach and Portal 2. I'm sure there's others.

If Shepard didn't destroy the Mass Relay in arrival they would have arrived instantly. I assume that the start of ME3 is a few months after the end of ME2.

I've already downloaded everything except Wipeout HD + Fury (wife and I have an account each and we already have Wipeout HD which I never play).

It's weird. Despite being an interesting virtual world with activities to actually participate in, I would rather buy items for my XBox Live avatar over my Home avatar.

Interesting. I'd heard the opposite - that Fable 3 was all kinds of awful even for people who liked Fable 2.

I actually liked Brutal Legend. Sure, it had Jack Black, a kind of lame story and out of place gameplay elements, but I thought it looked beautiful and had a lot of good points that made the experience of playing it enjoyable.

I doubt Tomb Raider and MW3 will be 360 exclusive - though they could potentially have exclusive/timed-exclusive DLC, I guess.

I wasn't excited about forza 4 until they showed a demo of Kinect head-tracking. I don't like driving sims because it feels wrong to play them from the behind the car view, and the in-car view is counter-intuitive because you have no situational awareness. I'm ok with playing behind-the-car in arcadey racers like Blur

To this day I wish I'd bought the original game. I wanted that console and I loved the idea of the game deleting your savefile when you die.
