Far more than that. This is a half billion dollar project.

At least that amount, if not much more. Plus meeting safety standards that are vastly different from when she was built.

Yeap.  I have at least a decade of having 1-2% below inflation raises on a good year.  What I could buy 10 years ago and what I can buy today is dramatically different.

Pedantic point, the prius prime starts at $32,975, so lets call it $33k. That 1k might not be a huge difference but you also say the Kona SEL is “pushing 40k” making it seem like its an $8k difference, but the msrp of the Kona SEL is $36,675 so the reality is its under $4k difference, which is less than half the delta

Good. Even though actual risk to one’s person is likely microscopic, there’s still no reason to financially reward their stinky behavior...

Agreed.  Dodging a boeing might be hard.  But I’m not so keen on flying the Max.

Either I am having a bad reading day or the headline is not consistent with the article. EARLY, not LATE.

I’ve never understood people taking off the belt either. I will make sure it’s loose-ish but not to where I’m going anywhere. After putting it on I forget it’s there

Part of me is starting to like Delta more, because of the general age of its fleet.  The older Boeings seem to be safer than the newer ones.

I fly Southwest. Their Boeings are safe because they are so old. That seems wrong.

So one gets punished for entering a on-ramp (acceleration!) or having the temerity to stop quickly to avoid rear-ending a car that suddenly turns right without any signal?

20-30 years ago I preferred Boeing to Airbus, and was happy to get one while planning a flight. Now I actively search against Boeing, and only take one when I have to. (Got one upcoming next month, in fact. I’m not expecting problems, but I’m not happy about it, either.)

Same, I try and avoid them as much as possible now.

I can confirm the mpg average, I have a sequoia with the 5.7 and I average 12.5 and with any sort of load/trailer that number goes down quick. Towing the my double seadoo trailer my previous 4runner got noticeably better mileage

we’ve bought and F-150 that is the primary family car.”

These whiners need to live under an airport where C-130J Super Hercules regularly take off. At Yeager Airport at CRW, they pretty much daily launch out over the city (airport is 400 feet above the city on a hilltop, and flight path is right over downtown) in twos and threes, and it can be deafening.

thanks to the skill of the drivers, performance of the tires, and engineering of the vehicles, the races always look like a lesson in discipline and control.

I owned an SVX for 14 years. Fabulous car. Mechanically, it’s very much like its contemporary Subaru models, save for an engine that has a couple more cylinders and sounds amazing.

I think the Red Bull Racing ship has sailed a long time ago for Yuki. They’d probably be willing do deal with his emotional outburst if he had the performances to back it up, but let’s be honest: the only time he truly seemed comfortable and impressive is when he went up against De Vries.

The irony is that Yuki’s hotheadedness is exactly the reason why Red Bull seems to prefer Ricciardo. Last time they went for a driver who was all over the place emotionally, they had to replace him mid-season. I wouldn’t even consider Yuki if I’m Red Bull, guys like him crash and burn in a high-pressure environment
