You only need one buyer. The Internet makes it easy to find that one buyer.
remind me again what kind of HP a ‘77 Corvette or mustang was making again? (vette was like 180hp with the L-48 engine, mustang was like 122 hp)
Oh no...
A 2.5 is probably fine for MPG, the 50 isn’t very big and that size Mazda has had NA 2.0s in the not so distant past. My general rule is if the car could handle normal driving if you took away the turbo, you should get decent relative MPG. If you would be falling behind traffic at a light if you took away the turbo…
Because the EPA test cycles allows the downsized turbo engines to stay off boost basically all the time, where real world you’re on boost more than not.
In certain markets cars are taxed by engine displacement, which is why you’ll see a whole lot of “2.0 liter” 4 cylinders that are actually 1,998 cc because hitting 2,000 would put them in a higher tax category.
Mileage is one of my biggest gripes with the push for downsized engines with ever-increasing boost pressure. They are always advertised as more efficient, but that’s mainly a function of the flawed testing standards. Downsizing means more boost is needed to get equivalent power, and combined with the extra weight,…
I say we just get to the root of the problem. Outlaw alcohol, that way there can’t be any deaths as a result of alcohol.
The system would also have to know whether or not you’re a minor.
That’s a very good point. You’d have to set the limit at 0.01 BAC, so even one alcohols would prevent you from driving.
Thats my hometown airport! How long ago did you get stuck in Ontario? About 20 years ago stair car was the only way at that airport, I useto feel like an old timey celebrity every time I landed.
You made me think of another point. This system must be smart enough to know the rules in different jurisdictions. NY as you noted, is 0.05 for DWAI and .08 for DWI. PA which shares a 250 mile border with NY only starts enforcement at 0.08. Would a PA driver at 0.06 have his car shut off while crossing state lines?
Literally anything that you need to adjust while the vehicle is in motion.
>with $2 million monstrosities.
Mercedes “autopilot” is at least speed limited. I’m not sure if it also knows if you’re on the hwy or not. I’m sure it does, they’re pretty smart.
“Matched the description of a stolen car” is the favorite fallback when their phishing expedition yields nothing.
Of all the vehicles I have owned, the only one that died due to engine failure was a Toyota (85 Supra). All others either died or I got rid of for other reasons. My personal best was a 91 Golf diesel where the transmission failed at 320,000 miles (516,000 km). Most vehicles I purchase at >140,000 miles. You are 100%…
—You, standing in the seller’s trailer which reeks of pot, dirty dishes and leaking propane: “Hey, can see that folder you mentioned?”
The seller coaxes a last drag off the tiny joint and leans forward in his torn BarcaLounger, never taking his bloodshot eyes off the Judge Judy rerun playing on the cracked Insignia.…
