We had a ‘97 Benetton show up at one of our vintage events at Big Willow. He was only a couple ticks off Andretti’s lap record in typical cold, windy Willow conditions. If he’d had a clear track on a nice day he would have obliterated the record.

$33k in 2015 is over $42k in 2023. Inflation is a bitch.

The only reason I watch it is for the background insights, and boy did they have some doozies so far this season.  I’m just about to start the one on the Piastri drama, but already there’s been some very enlightening moments that were never available elsewhere.

I dunno about Piastri questioning his decision, Alpine haven’t exactly been at the sharp end of the timing pylon the last two days, either.  It’s just testing though so take a lot of this with caveats.

News at 11.

Don’t worry, you’re fine.  Point your lights at the garage door and make sure you have a clean cutoff, then adjust height accordingly.  If you’ve got a bunch of light bleed around the cutoff then you may need to try a different bulb, but otherwise there shouldn’t be an issue.

Kudos to you!  Thank you for doing this properly and testing!  Boo to the 4x4 vehicles that just lift their rig and upgrade lights without validation.

Far more likely scenario. Bet a factory crate engine for one of these would not come cheap.

TBH the AWD and tow XLT for those prices you quoted are dangerously close to a Ranger...and the Ranger fuel economy isn’t even that much worse.

I was going to do the same thing. I would want an AWD FX4 with the tow package and I could not find one and could not wait for years. I went to Hyundai and tried to get a Santa Cruz and couldn’t get one of those either. I would still prefer the Maverick over the Santa Cruz even if the Hyundai has a way nicer interior.

Ford went and designed themselves an incredibly desirable truck and then shot themselves in the foot by not making enough of them.

I came here to say almost the exact same thing. You can’t even place an order for one on Ford’s website. My wife and I would love to buy a hybrid model. It’d be perfect for us.  Unatanium may be easier to acquire than a Ford Maverick.

My commuter is a 2017 Volt Premium.  Everyone that sits in it (up front) remarks on how much more premium it is versus other bowtie products.  Everyone that sits in it (out back) bitches the entire time.  Personally it’s a great little commuter (I’m a big guy and 6'2") that next year will be a great first car for my

Brand loyalty is a mental disorder.

I had a 1990 Integra automatic sedan. It was not exciting, but I put a lot of problem-free miles on it.

I’m there with you. I had a 95 Integra Coupe for about a year. Unmodified non-VTEC. Slow, loud, rode like crap, needed premium fuel to run. It did handle okay, but it was hard to get comfortable between the flat seating position and reaching the pedals. Even the 5-speed it had was terrible due to a long shifter.

Just as long as we can still get some more “James May, Our Man In...” shows, I’ll be satisfied.
