I’m not sure Bungie could ever write a good story. Halo stories didn’t really get improve beyond merely adequate until Halo 4. Bungie’s best-in-the-business FPS mechanics are their primary allure, not their bad storytelling. (They’re kinda the opposite of Bioware, aren’t they? Ha!)

Bungie is no longer a division of Microsoft. They bought themselves out after Halo Reach & are once again an independent developer.
