What Vipero07 means is that if you are not using a VPN they could have gotten this information already from your IP address. The VPN obscures your IP address, so this “attack”, which derives location through means other than your IP address then has value in finding the same information your unobscured IP address…

Perhaps stopping would have risked being hit from behind. Better to try to drive through what you can see than hope that whoever is behind you is going to stop.
