But how much would she even get for kid #5 though? At this point it’s probably just a Starbucks gift certificate and a “don’t call us, we’ll call you”

I can’t believe even the most desperate tabloid is going to keep shelling out after the fifth kid. “Another one? Look, call when you give birth to a pony or something.”
Tori and Dean seem like that couple always attempting to convince people they’re richer than they are and more in love than they are. Constantly buying new houses and having more kids to.... “fix” things? Push “reset” to kickstart their marriage over and over again?
First of all, I am so sorry. Losing a pet is so hard. I saw that you replied to another post that you have not told the kid’s parents and I just thought I would say that you maybe should. I know that doing so would be painful and potentially awkward and angering in and of itself but if my child caused the death of any…
Oh, I dunno:
- trying to get home to see a family member on their deathbed, or witness the birth of a child
- a court date for child custody or some other serious legal issue
- a serious medical condition requiring specialist treatment in another city
Which means, they should have just kept upping the reimbursement. If it was that dire keep offering more until people fly out of their seats to take it. And offer a rescheduled flight and cash incentives. They just needed 4 seats right? Double the $400. Make it $1000. That’s say 4k for united airlines plus cost…
What about someone rushing home to see a sick relative? Or a bride/groom going who is getting married the next morning? Is he a brain surgeon or is he a family doctor treating minor injuries and ailments? Are there other providers in his practice who can cover for him? Surely there’s some system in place to cover his…
The thing is, people who get paid by patient or hourly or by project are not going to leap up at the thought of $400 and delaying one or more days to get back to their lives. $400 will barely replace a lost days wages in a lot of cases. And then you have lots of other factors that you have to reschedule if you are a…
Just to make it clear. The aircraft was not “overbooked”. It only became overbooked when four additional United employees showed up late and demanded seats.
Why didn’t the doctor just hand the cop a Pepsi?
Pick your battles, people. This is NOT the hill you want to die on with your FOUR-YEAR-OLD! I am 5fucking8 and I can still remember wanting to be a “pretty” little girl and my mother insisted on serviceable clothing instead of the pretty things I’d have preferred.
I’m not a mom, but for fuck’s sake, let the kid wear pink princessy crap and go to the silly princess party without being an utter killjoy. She’s a kid. Chances are she’ll be on to a new obsession by the time she grows out of the princess wear.
Not letting your daughter go to a party because you don’t like the theme seems really petty. You don’t need to prove anything, there’s no feminist jury on the sidelines judging your every decision, and I think you should let go of the pressure you’ve put on yourself because it seems counterproductive. Forcing her to…
I wish a some of my friends and family would want me to know it’s totally okay not to be a mom. I could do without their sad sighs. I’m okay, stop being sad because for the 10 millionth time: I DON’T WANT TO BE A MOM.
in an exploration of what that truly means to live life unbounded, unfiltered and uninhibited.”
I can’t imagine ever calling in “on my period.” I’d rather not have any additional attention paid to the fact that I am the only woman in the department, especially when reasons things aren’t getting done on time comes into question.
I cannot help but think that a law like this would also cause co-workers to develop some degree of disdain for their female peers. I would also be a bit miffed because I would not use the leave because I do not suffer enough to feel inclined to bring attention to my period.
(However, I have some unscrupulous coworkers…
That’s not a small or trivial amount of lost productivity, and seems rife for generating unintended consequences.
As someone who was out of the office last week Monday because my cramps made me consider the pros/cons of hacking out my uterus with a butcher knife, I support this.
Man do I ever have a mixed bag of feelings on this one.
