Calling Ray Fisher “crazy” may be accepted in the AV Club bubble, but the optics on saying that about a black man talking about abuse in the wider public space (or even right next door at Jezebel or The Root) might not be good.

Gonna disagree - this is probably one of the safer shows to record during a pandemic. One contestant at a time. Outside. Very distanced. Hosts don’t need to be on set. The water is chlorinated. Let’s hope they clean the obstacles between people though.
All shows are probably terrible shows to be filming during a pandemic.

yes, baby yoda is a nuanced and ambiguous character and you are v. mature and smart for liking him
Scorsese should try watching Civil War then.
Same. The context was that they were important, so if there was a lesson towards this egg-eating subplot, then this would be a whole different story, but there wasn’t.
YUP. I’m not clutching my pearls at the idea of poor little froggy babies, but it was just tonally...weird. Like they set up the importance of the eggs, then he’s popping them like pez and there’s...no tension to it, and tension’s kinda necessary for tragedy and comedy.
Exactly where I’m at. I don’t mind the idea of Baby Yoda doing shit like this if it’s funny, but in this case the show is both telling us how crucial these eggs are and also trying to wring laughs instead of drama out of destroying them. It tonally doesn’t work at all.
I made my thoughts known in the comment section regarding the episode in question.
The whole recount thing is playing into the tired cliche of “maybe the monster isn’t dead” though, but hopefully it will be just be a final jump scare at most.
The season finale of US election was excellent.

Morgan?
Sure, she’s probably good at her job, but how did she discern all that just by walking by his computer screen?
Okay...I liked it. Especially b/c there’s little new content on free TV, save reality shows and bad game shows these days. BUT b/c it’s a genre show, and it’s on FOX TV, I am wondering just how long it will be until they cancel it. Taking bets now on the odds of a 2nd season. Am I going to invest myself in yet another…
