I think the movie is setting up Rey to start a more balanced tradition of Force users. They seem to show her comfortably embracing and avoiding the Dark Side in a way that past Jedi have had difficulty with. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her setup a school for Grey Jedi in the next one.

This leads to one of my fears. People act as though Trump is the end point of a half-century of Republicans pandering to their bigoted base.
