I’m French, that’s not the poster we got. And yeah, I figured that the 4 was the “4th of July” but I was just wondering why anyone would bother to add it to begin with. The answer apparently is: because marketing.

That’s not a bad thing. Did it with my Vantage while I had it. Enjoy!
It definitely does squats.
That’s a great car. I have a 987. I’m going to keep the 987 long term, as it’s my favorite water-cooled Porsche. If I ever get rid of it for some reason, I’m going backwards to something air-cooled.
Yeah, me too, although I still like the 987 (and 997) more than either of the newer models.
Is Hank Scorpio, your all-time favorite Simpsons character? Because he is my all-time favorite Simpsons character in my all-time favorite Simpsons episode. This is my favorite exchange too:
humble brag that you own a 981 Cayman GTS. That thing is gorgeous, congrats!
The front basically looks like the new 718.
Yeah, I drive a Cayman now, but I still admire the exteriors of 996.2 cars at Porsche Club events and start to miss the car...until I see the interior. Interiors often aren’t a huge deal to me in a sports car, but it’s pretty bad. 996.2 interiors need to be full leather and all black to even be passable.
Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the taillights, but the front 98% of it looks spectacular. As the owner of a similarly-hued 1998 V70, I love this dearly and want one.
I'd argue that C4 > C5 was the bigger change. The C4 is considered the low point by many, and the C5 is one of the better ones.
Admit it, you just wanted to post a picture of your GTS
I took my GTS up along the Californian coast to Big Sur and back from LA, with over 8 hours of almost non-stop seat time on the (detour-heavy) return leg. The only discomfort at the end was a sore heel on my right foot, for having been in the same position for so long. I have the semi-magical PASM and the 18-way…
Appreciate the thorough response. 997 gts, cayman gts, f type s are all on my list. Trying to figure out the best balance between sport and daily. I’m leaning Cayman gts, but with pasm. I havent found a f type manual to check out. And the 911 has that 911 appeal for me. Especially a 997 gts. I should renew my pca…
Beats me! Should have called it the 911 Panorama.
Wow your Cayman looks amazing! Congratz.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the GTS. how long have you owned it? Taken it on any long trips? Pros, cons. They’re on my short list. Along with the f type
As a 2016 Audi A7 owner, VAG shamelessly looked at their other better looking four door hatchback sedan thing and said, “Welp, we got that one right, let’s copy it”:
