Not sure why ppl have a problem with this, I have a 2014 S4 with DSG, live in LA which has notorious stop n go traffic, and the behavior of the transmission has never bothered me, and I have about 20k miles on the car. It didn’t feel any different to me than a traditional AT in stop n go.

You put the DSG into manual mode and you can hold whatever gear you please until you bounce off the redline and wreck your transmission. Plus starting off in manual mode, it will start in 1st gear and hold it until you tell it to shift into second
