It’s nit unsurprising, game changers are often unpopular and underrecognized at the time because they well... deviate from what’s familiar and popular

So at first you said you were joking and sarcastic. Now you seem to be flipping back and saying you’re serious. Don’t go back n forth like that. You commit to either one

I submit that the BP generation Subaru Legacy GT wagon fits the bill even better. Stock 2.5L turbo motor 250 hp and easily tunable to 300-350 hp w simple bolt ons and tune, but retains all of its family grocery getter utility and is arguably one of the best looking Subaru models ever (it looks like a pretty handsome

IIRC your example of the Accord wagon lacks AWD and a luxury interior, nor is it really a nimble fast Miata-like performance car or a high hp monster straight line performance car. But it does tick off the other boxes. So pretty close. (not really but I’m being nice and agreeing with you).

Yep your sarcasm was way too subtle. Understandble since there are too many idiots on the gawker sites who would say what you said in seriousness.

Thanks for writing this, its good to shake up the closed minded ‘MT or nothing’ mentality that dominates the attitudes of far too many jalops.

Please don’t defend all the idiots with slow cars equipped with fart can exhausts, you’re a better person than that.

There’s nothing enjoyable about a typical fart can sound. The driver knows this too.

Most people buy it because they think they’re saving gas and in California at least, to get those carpool lane stickers. Not to pose. That comes with owning the car for a while

Because that would mean steering into the car in the other lane next to you or steering into the oncoming traffic lane? or in the case of a single lane road, steering off the road into a possible ditch or curb? Do you live in the real world?

Which is weird because traditionally BMWs design language usually starts w the 7 series and trickles down as well.

Technically its acute hydronephrosis, sorry, not intending to one up you on the medical terminology

Exactly, in the past i think the 7 series always had something of a bespoke look and the lower models may imitate to some degree, but this looks like a larger 3 series and looks LESS premium than the F10 5 series

Nah its the other way around, the new C class looks like a shrunken down S Class

Reading thru the comments on YouTube (intellectual brain trust that they are, a lot of the commenters are missing out on the joke that the poor video quality and low budget look of it is intentional

It’s the first mid-engined twin turboed V8 SINCE the F40

My perspective: I’ve owned 4 performance Subarus (99 2.5RS, 03 WRX , 05 Sti, 08 Legacy GT spec B) and are pretty familar with those generations of cars inside & out, modded them, made them faster and pretty focused on street performance and still be reliable. They were fun to drive but had their limitations inherent

That’s probably a key point you made that the vast majority of Subaru buyers are non-enthusiasts and non-jalops who just need a car that works well in all weather conditions

That’s great for current Subaru owners, sucks for those buying them used. So glad I got out of Subarus at this point. If I didn’t. It sounds like shopping for my next one could get costly.

Just wanted to chime in how lane splitting is allowed in California and I really hate it
