Well I live in an apartment without central air, so by habit I tend to refrigerate everything all year round that would melt or go moldy in the summer, especially my chocolate and bread. I'm sure she has central air, but that's one reason I can think of.

You can do it! I'm maintaining a 70 lb. weight loss. It did take me 2 years because I took a 6 month break when I got lazy (kept eating healthy, but just stopped exercising and 10 lbs. came back), but honestly it's better to be slow and steady, you have more chance of success.

I used to drink soda every day and got down to one can a week by gradually cutting down. I don't know your habits obviously (one can a day? multiples?) but cutting it down bit by bit is still better than drinking as you normally do, and may be less likely to cause relapse.
