The worst part about this is that it's two extremes. On one end, you have the most generic looking anime characters ever put to paper, and on the other, you have generic western "realism". Both are equally horrible. How about having a unique art style that sets your product apart from the masses and all audiences can

Ahh yes. Pick apart a single phrase rather than delving into the dozens of subsequent paragraphs I've written about it. People who like the combat aren't sheeple, but your argument is certainly ignorant and lacking in both substance and creativity. 1/10. Try harder next time kid.

In the action genre? Devil May Cry 1 & 3, Ninja Gaiden Black, God of War 1-3, and Bayonetta are all exemplary pillars of great combat in action games.

"The argument that all action games are glorified QTEs can be made if you're going to oversimplify everything so much."

I didn't mean to suggest that the combat is 1:1 with QTEs, hence why I say that it's "masking" as an action game. There some choice involved, but I feel as though all the "thought" of the combat is completely removed by the prompts. The game tells me what to do instead of letting me do it. People argue, "Oh, but you

"The first time you dove into a gang of thugs in Batman: Arkham Asylum or lobbed a few grenades then switched to a Needler against the Covenant in Halo: Combat Evolved, you knew. You knew that something about the fighting mechanics of the game felt so good that you were hooked. "

A legitimate successor to my favorite RTS of all time? Count me in. Super Supreme Commander was supposed to be a spiritual successor to the series, but it just wasn't the same.

2.0 is the big one that will reshape the world by bringing new zones and changing the current ones. So yeah, you're still forced to content with the "multiple zones in one bigger zone that all looks the same" for the time being. The crafting remains similar to it's original concept, but they've tweaked it a lot to

1.) If you're going to type, use correct grammar and punctuation.

They really are putting a crazy amount of work into reinventing the game. Even now, it's in far better shape than it was originally, and the biggest patches (including 2.0, the game's "relaunch" - pictured in the article) have yet to arrive. Hopefully, rebranding and re-releasing it will help people realize it's damn

Indie games are no different than AAA games in that respect though. You've got a bunch of shit, and then you've got a small percentage of really good titles. Sure, lots of indie devs are making Crappy Mario-style Platformer No.98347, but most of those will never see the light of day. And for every retro experience,

I completely disagree. I'm glad someone is focusing on them, because the AAA developers certainly aren't. Prior to the indie resurgence, I played a ton of PopCap games, because they were about the only people focusing on an arcade-style experience. So I'm glad the little guys are there to fill that gap in the market.

The voice acting was easily "so bad it's good" territory. Agreed with the above comments about it being a fantastic game though. It controls how you'd expect giant robots to control, as opposed to controlling like a human that happens to be a 100ft tall mech. I also appreciated the camera's pov being from the human's

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.

Robust in what manner? I absolutely love Beat Hazard, but watching these videos, this game doesn't seem to have as much variety. (Which is sad, cuz my one complaint about Beat Hazard is that it lacks variety - even with all the extra content Ultra adds.) Seems like you're just stuck moving around in a box and shooting

"I'm just pointing out the sheer absurdity of using "anyone can do it" to justify something."

"It's not an opinion if the other controller is scientifically more ergonomic."

It's not THAT random. Let's say you have to topple a tower structure and knock it over onto the pigs to 3 star the level. You can't just fling your birds anywhere at it and just hope to God it hits. You'll have to aim at a very specific spot to trigger the maximum effect. And while you can still hit that "sweet spot"

I'd like a happy medium between the two. The problem I have with "mmo" mice is that they have too damn many buttons. Don't get me wrong, I adore the extra buttons . . . just not when they're so tiny and crammed together so tightly that it's difficult to actually press the one that you intended. I think Logitech is

"HD/BluRay/Motion Controls/Touch Screens are a gimmick and nothing more."
