If we're worried about punctures and downtime from vehicles, why aren't all four wheels "Tweels"?

I think it's a very valid question.

I'm thinking the recall is more forward thinking than anything else is what I'm getting from the article. Eventually the rear trailing arms will fail after some abuse, probably more evident than the engineers originally thought, sparking this recall.

They'd rather issue a recall now,

There will always be internet trolls unfortunately.

I'm with you that, but the positives do not hold their own in my opinion.

Are Screens really easier to assemble than a button? I find that hard to believe. I'm no displays expert though.

On the software front, is the button not linked to software already? It's a more primitive "on" or "off" signal, but it's still

I really think this is a bad idea. The best case scenario is having soft keys (like the Back and Menu keys on an Android phone) with some sort of haptic feedback. Even then, why not have just have less complex buttons? I don't see the advantage of having these screens on the wheel in the slightest.

Screens like these

I got a huge smile on my face when he asked if it was still recording and what he said following that was glorious.

I didn't jump at the front because I'm used to seeing the new Lexus front ends.

But this?

I think in 20 years from now, we'll consider this commercial "so 2010's" in the same sense we've considered some tacky 80's commercials so 1980's.

We don't see it now, but I think the spot will age well in time.

I've heard theories for a few but nothing solid or with numbers and reasoning backing them up. I've always wondered this as well.

This would be an amazing article to read!

No problem!

You learn an insane amount in such a short time. Just by making mistakes and rethinking designs and how to prepare yourselves for building anything. Whether it's professional or amateur, you always learn something new. I came to the table knowing absolutely nothing.

I'm far from a professional but I feel

OMG Yes!

I am not worthy of this gloriousness.

I couldn't remember what it was called but the moment I read Foam Core, it immediately jostled my memory. The Hemp sheets were extremely hard to find.

I believe one of our members found an all organic clothing store and was able to buy huge sheets in bulk. They were actually on giant rolls just like Fibreglass or

Ever since I discovered it, it's on the top 10 list of my dream cars.

I scrolled really far down to find it wasn't mentioned either. I'm surprised it wasn't.

I wonder if it's possible to convert a beat up original Fiat 500 into one of these. I don't think it'd be that difficult, but I believe the biggest issue is

Good question.

We used an Epoxy-Resin to harden Hemp sheets to the shape of our body by shaping a mold out of insulation from home depot. Our car was actually made of one entire shell as well. I wonder if I have some old photos around about the process that I could dig up.

The body panels were actually extremely

The Fiat 500 Jolly. Complete with Wicker Seats and Canvas Awning.

We used hemp on our Electrathon car in College. That stuff is extremely easy to work with by hand! I think it was better than the fiberglass we used for some smaller casings.

It's got charm, I'll give it that. But I wouldn't consider it 10.9 kilobucks worth of charm.

The story goes that a shop assistant working on the GT40 got sent to a local auto parts store with a scale to find the lightest taillights he could get and came back with the ones from the 1960 Corvair.

...and costs less to maintain.

Although I disagree, your gif made me laugh hard!
