A prime example that comes to my mind right away is Minecraft. And there are also some games that work better outside of Steam. Although I love Steam, I have to agree - Steam isn't everything.

"We love Steam. But there are lots of great games you can't currently find there! Discover some of them here, and support indie development," the main Not On Steam page announces. Of particular note: The Yawhg, I Get This Call Every Day, Richard & Alice and Solaris. All on sale at a discount, to boot.

Dude, you took up the entire page with this WoT...

"The difference between an eight hour download and a 15-minute drive to retail"

When does it make sense to buy Apple hardware? If you're not a gamer.

Fairy type!? That's ridiculous. I was waiting so long for Flying type to be changed to Wind (or at least Bird), and the introduction of Light type to counter Dark.

Sci-fi shooter + Valve Source engine = o_O :D

I'm not a fan of Kickstarter, but for this I would support. With all my paychecks. And bitcoins.

I don't play Call of Duty, and if I wanted to, I would play it on PC. I don't play sports games either. I don't watch TV, and even if I wanted to I don't need an Xbox for it.

This is why I don't like Yahoo. They're a cold corporation that cares about nothing but money. I don't get anything from Yahoo that I can't already get from Google - much less a better alternative.

You sure have a... strange taste in attractiveness. I mean, some of these - either have to be trolling or joking.

But can it run Crysis?

Absolutely agree.

While I don't agree with the use of (an inorexably subjective) rating aggregates like Metacritic for practices like these, I can't say the same for Bethesda's actions.

Well of course there would be a problem with getting public support. Some people don't even believe that NASA ever put a man on the moon.

This. 1st grade? Or was it 3rd?

Looks like I won't be playing this game, ever. Or in the very least, I won't be buying it. Especially not for $60 - a complete and utter waste of money. And since it'll probably be on Origin instead of Steam, forget it.

This is a good progression in graphics. The next step is dynamic clothing. Not just bumpmapped/tessellated textures on models but actual clothing that can be destroyed and doesn't clip with the environment/character.

Thanks, you've further enforced my dislike for Taco Bell - I'm never going to eat there.

Ugh, I have to disagree with almost everything on the list. If I were to build a PC from scratch (which I'm planning on doing pretty soon):
