Speaking of automated brightness, did the G1 originally have such an option? For some reason I see it often on mine, but it doesn't do anything.

*sniff*

@Walternate: I would rather a completely offline experience. I'll just make a PDF file.

@Singing Kitty: That's an awesome device! It's so expensive though.

@nocode: It's not a lot of work, my scanner can save directly to a USB drive, so it's only a matter of cropping away the pages. I would like to have many magazines scans on my tablet, verses holding many copies with different articles I want to read.

Hey guys, I want to buy a tablet to read. What I would like to do is make scans of my existing magazines , as well as save webpages with large articles (such as certain life hacker articles) both for reading on this tablet. What's a good way to go about saving the webpages and convert them to a usefull format for

Wait, this went from "you agreed to this in the EULA" to "Oh, no big deal it was an accident"?

@MorganRW: You don't break the law? Oh, you don't say. Wow. Simply wow. People like you deserve nothing more than to lose your rights (mostly to privacy.)

@SmarchHare: No, he would evidently find it (wait for it)

@tylerbrainerd: Everyone has a right to freak out and assume the government cares about where you were. Was the OP freaking out? No. He made a simple suggestion for the android crowd to double check their phones, and that he downloaded an app that can delete saved location data.

Yup, using Cardio trainer on my G1 has motivated me immensely. Maps + Calories burned, etc.

Whew. You scared me. I read that as if it's already been deployed.

I recall someone saying that apps sending unencrypted info wasn't a big deal. Where are you mister?!

I'm very weary of apps I install on my phone. When I see an app asking for permissions, I double check why. Apps like cardio trainer and gas buddy both use the GPS for a clear reason. Some small time app dev doesn't need my GPS for a simple drawing app however.

Does anyone know where I could buy a legal copy of windows xp, if not for cheap? I looked on amazon, but they are still selling it for $300 + :s..

@Administrator: On lifehacker, the large majority of stars were received from helpful in some fashion. I got mine from submitting a tip for rooting an android phone-from a phone itself.

@sammysoul: I lived in New york too. People have, are doing, and will continue to do strange sick things. People will do these things whether or not it's broad day-light, night time, people watching, or cameras present.

@Whitson Gordon: I think there was much more discussion there before the site revision than after. The few days after, I couldn't find open thread. When I did, there was maybe on or two posts a day.

I wouldn't even think about falling asleep on public transit, given how crazy people are.
