They probably wouldn’t do it to protect the anonymity of the patients. I think it’s a worthwhile idea, though - I think some patients would be willing to show what they go through to get medical care, and you could blur out patients’ body/face from the footage for extra protection.

I spent actual decades thinking some of the Marthas were black. The very first description of Rita includes “her brown arms.” I simply assumed some women of color were forced into servitude, because the Marthas mentioned that the handmaid “had a choice.” (Which to me means they themselves had no choice.)

Let’s be fair and only blame non-voters who weren’t voter-suppressed. I’m not going to blame someone who was working all the hours their polling stations were open or had an outdated ID because they couldn’t afford ton change it.

Her first major interview in months and no one asked about the millions she ran off with?

It’s also supposed to help insulate the building- but in many other countries you’re only allowed to use it on short buildings. For high rises you should use a more flame resistant material.

HUNDREDS OF YEARS. Even the Young Earth crazies believe the world has been around for thousands of years. Either Tangier is a relatively recent volcanic island, or Trump is a doddering idiot incapable of thinking in large numbers.

If he had stock in sprinklers, then he would want them to be mandatory in all big buildings. More likely he’s invested in real estate or construction, and wants them to eek out every penny they can even if it kills people.

My dad was a fire fighter for decades and the FIRST things I brought into any apartment or house I moved into were fire alarm/CO monitors and a fire extinguisher. Even if they had alarms installed already, I’m not about to trust my life to the owner’s diligence.

I could probably go find very similar quotes from people fighting regulations in the US, but I think I want to keep some blissful ignorance for the moment.

That is super awesome, but I wonder how many can afford it? Not being snarky at all, just saying that college costs are astronomical.

Just going to leave this here:

It can seem really strange until you read a bit more about what prison-families face.

That splash of red paint on the black and white legs looks awesome, honestly. Really adds to the piece. Call it a “performative collaboration” and act happy about it. (Bonus points, that would probably piss off the vandals.)

“why are there so many Wonder Woman-themed aromas that contain vanilla??”

Oh my, no, that’s fine as long as you’re white.

Yeah, it sucks. But rich people own damn near everything, and rich people are often monsters, sooooo. Welp.

Couldn’t you use this article title pretty much every day?

Yep, these days you can even buy it in iiiiiitty biiiiity little containers shaped like tiny vaseline jars in the lip balm section. It’s kind of hilarious, really. A lot of balms are basically the same ingredients with an essential oil or two thrown in, maybe some glitter.

An incredibly powerful propaganda machine that we’ve all been ignoring while it ticked away in its gated off community.

Statistically, though, white people vote horribly, no matter how well intentioned some of us are.
