Well, yeah. Maybe. People have preconceptions about upcoming films based on the track record of their creators. Stop the presses. This trailer is a special effects boner-fest with explosions and giant robots. What excites me most about it is that it promises a special effects boner-fest with Del-Toro at the helm

Yeah! Because THAT'S what the world NEEDS! A West Coast Avengers movie!!!

Blood From The Shoulder of Pallas by Daniel Dreiberg (Nite Owl II)

It seems to me that the two biggest complaints, that life does not always evolve towards complexity and the problem of occasional mass extinctions, would, if taken into account, generally extend the time-scale rather than shorten it. I mean, I understand that the point is that evolution is wildly erratic and

You may be right, but between the overlaid shadow and the fact that this is still concept art I'd say it's too early to say for certain that there wont be. In any case, the "Commander Rogers" costume lacked the red stripes, so if that's the choice that's being made here it isn't because they're adapting that design

While it's clear that certain influences are being taken from the "Commander Rogers" costume, there are also some clear differences. First of all, the helmet/cowl, which he didn't wear during that period. Secondly, the shield These are both clear indicators that we're looking at Captain America, not Commander

"Tron: Legacy" was very much a fantasy movie, more-so than believable sci-fi, but even for its script problems I found it to be quite enjoyable. It had some really lovely visual work, and is one of the few movies that I was glad to have seen in IMAX 3d. "Oblivion" looks to be more of the same eye-candy wise, which

The continuity between the films (pre-Craig) has always been fuzzy, to the point where each *could* exist in its own separate world OR in any combination with any of the others, up to and including the Brosnon films, even though logically there's no way that Pierce Brosnan was in his early 30s in 1962. The

Everything I see and hear about this movie makes me more and more excited. I plan on seeing "Oblivion" when it comes out (despite the negative buzz) and I know that it will suffer, regardless of its own quality, simply by the fact of it not being "Elysium."

These are great. I especially like the Superman one. Beautifully captures his iconic status.

I got the point, I was just making a joke.

"Xena just wasted your time by telling you a horrible story that didn’t actually happen."

They have these theatres across Canada, and they were my first thought too, except the "saucer" is strictly cosmetic. I've been up inside the one in Langley, BC, (back when it was owned by Famous Players rather than Cineplex) and it was pretty much just a big metal shell.

Actually, he did create these characters. He wrote the Oblivion graphic novel (never published) which the movie is based on.

I'm not sure about it being a matte painting, but I did read something about them using front projection rather than digital composite for the backgrounds, which is another in-camera effect rather than something done in a macbook pro, and might give the image the quality you're referencing.

I think you could sell Namor to potential investors as "the Wolverine of Atlantis" pretty easily, or use him in a slightly more "fantastic" reboot of the Fantastic Four. Deathlok is a zombie... NOBODY likes zombies. Shang Chi and She-Hulk may never have their own solo films, but supporting members of future team

Very exciting.

Thank you for mentioning him! Dick Proenneke is such an awesome figure for self-reliance.
