PETA runs what they fraudulently call a "shelter" in Norfolk, VA, where they kill 93% of the animals they take in regardless of their condition. A very few are transferred to other organizations, but they have murdered thousands of perfectly adoptable animals.
Do they have a faux-cutesy video about the thousands of dogs and cats they kill and put in freezers for storage?

Apparently it was because the actor that plays Matthew refused to do any episodes in the next season. The creator wanted to try to at least write him out but it wasn't do able with the actors schedule. So they had to kill him. I think he came to NYC to do broadway.
