They also want to cut funding to the cleanup effort at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in SE Washington. There are a fair few people over here in the red half of the state that are coming to their senses, it’s a shame it’s too damn late for that shit.

Damn, that’s disheartening. I’ve got family down in Oregon and spent a fair bit of time there growing up and there was definitely some overt racism, but I felt like it had gotten better since that time. :(

Yeah, everyone over here is aware of Oregon’s unfortunate history, but these days it’s really the Idaho pan handle that you have to worry about; there are some seriously racist mother fuckers over there (that’s a generalization of course, they aren’t all terrible people, but it is a problem).

That’s why I love living in the Pacific Northwest, we’re all just so apathetic about everyone else; we mostly just want to be left alone to live our lives so that’s how we treat everyone else too. It can come off as cold at times though, I’m sure.
