Not sure where you get your info, but my SII runs all day even with heavy use. Also, ICS was just made available, the SII has been around for about a year, relax, just upgrade to ICS if you want it so bad.

A lot of people are still using Android 2.2 (2.3) because ICS just came out and Honeycomb is a tablet only OS.
