Pass.
Pass.
I visited the Baker Hotel about six months ago while in Mineral Wells for a friend's wedding. It's an oddity for sure. Driving through the town, the last thing you would expect to see is this 14 story building looming above this tiny, rural farming community (Mineral Wells boasts a 16k+ population, but the town itself…
I wanted to bring this up, but didn't know how to say it without offending romance novel readers. You, on the other hand, threaded the needle. Well done.
I'm patiently waiting for BBC 2's adaptation of Cornwell's Saxon series. These books are full of win.
Throw in Hasselhoff, and I'm there. One can never have too much hoff.
That's fair, I suppose.
LOL
I didn't know this was an io9 favorite. Nevertheless, I thought it was an awful movie. Makes me very nervous about Natali handling Neuromancer...
Stupid movie, stupid scientists.
Slow news day?
I'm having this debate on a film site right now. I think that CGI has, in a lot of ways, handicapped creativity rather than enabled it. You've already made the point for me in your above comments. Directors, when faced with a challenging action scene, now have the ability to hand the scene over to animators and say…
This header image is the shit.
No, no. Sorry. I was reacting more to all of the negative comments in that thread about her. Didn't mean to single you out. Apologies.
In a lot of ways I agree with you. I didn't read GotG as a kid. I was a naysayer. I thought a talking raccoon sounded stupid. I walked out of the theater smiling and with tears in my eyes. I felt like this film, more than any other recent film, got close to the feeling I had watching Spielberg films as a kid. I had my…
Well, this is preferable to a sequel, but I still think they should just let it die.
Wise, wise words.
I guess that could depend on a lot of factors, but if this is your numero uno, so be it. Rock on.
Yes to this. The studios do what they think will sell. If that means trying to copy what has come before, they'll do it. Sadly.
I have no idea what you all are up in arms about. She was fine. Unless I'm missing some crucial bit of info from the comic, I thought she was great. The girl that played Nebula was awful, and I thought Glenn Close was kind of a wallflower, but both of those two characters had terrible lines to work with.
Wow, I thought she represented the worst acting in the whole film (with the guy that played Ronan running a very close second). Granted, the lines they were dealt were utter shit, but still... ugh. She was terrible.
