Yup, best to stay back far enough you can see ALL of the mirrors on the truck. Because if you can see those mirrors the driver of the truck can see you, you have a nice safe cushion if he has to stop suddenly AND you can actually SEE far enough past him to easily tell if it's safe to pass.
