I think part of the problem stems from adapting his text to visuals. So much of the "joy" that comes from his books is from his use of "colorful metaphors". To truly capture the essence of the book (Snow Crash) you'd have to have multiple flashbacks or some sort of Hitchhikers Guide style narrative injections.

I feel similarly about the Mass Effect series. I'll go back and play them someday, but it will always be "tainted" by the ending.

You know, out of all of these. I like the Corvette the best. (Even after adding the F12 image below)

Like so many things, sometimes people just do it for the Lulz.

The videos are long gone, and I don't know where he got his advice, but I feel as though the Internet has something to do with it.

Came to say the same thing. I'm pretty sure the Honda Passport I currently own has larger than stock tires on it (though when I had them replaced last year the shop assured me they were the stock size) and my speedo runs ~10mph slower than my actual speed.

Tried to sift through the comments as best I could:

This should really be higher up. This gives context to the above video. Without this context it just looks like Boyer turned back to the track early and didn't check to see if Gordon was still there.

Interesting. I wondered if it was something like that. The car analogy actually fits well. I just didn't realize that so much of the "bypass" was actually used as forward thrust.

Interesting. Does this have to do with Fuel economy or with the planes not needing large amounts of actual jet propulsion to achieve cruising speeds?

Vanquish was/ is amazing. As true a bullet hell 3d game if ever there was one. Punishing learning curve at first, but giddily fun once you get the hang of it.

It really comes down to branding. Cigs and Alcohol are two highly competitive markets that REQUIRE the product to be packaged uniquely and in a quickly identifiable way. This extends to the cars livery's. Most of these companies have done their homework and hired decent designers to translate their brands image on to

Well. Time to dig the Lego's out of the Garage.

Portland would be great for a Rally stage or something similar, but not for a F1 race. The streets are too narrow, there are far to many metal topped bridges, and the abundance of Max and Streetcars cris-crossing would make it a nightmare for low clearance, high down-force cars. Plus Portland's pavement sucks.

Close, but not correct.

Like others have stated, the area a US pizza shop has to consider for delivery is much larger than across the pond.

This is why I said the Delta Wing isn't a naturally stable design in the previous post. When it comes to rubbing it will loose every time. On a normal car you've got the entire side of the car to "bounce" with (I know flips can happen with "normal" four wheeled cars too). With the Delta wing, first thing that happens

It may just seem that way to me, and anything can flip/fly.

I agree. It's a naturally unstable design to my eye.
