I am curious if Blizzard is going to continue down the casual themepark road. They set huge casual themepark precedents, but frankly, I think themeparks are a big part of why so many recent MMOs die.

Binging on a new game is like a ritual. That is the whole point of the midnight launch. Doubly so for MMOs. Don't sleep, just play for as long as the limits of your human body will allow it.

Yeah, so says that Neogaf forum post. I will wait to actually hear from a Sony executive before I give Sony any kind of pass on this issue.

Wow, Skyrim 2 looks like crap, wtf Bethesda?

Oh yeah, you guys didn't think that Sony and Microsoft were making consoles for you, the consumer, did you? Oh no, they make their consoles for the publishers, they are, and have been in bed together for decades. Sadly, payola speaks louder than the free market.

So it would seem that international corporate blackmail works pretty well. I expect we will be hearing more about this story in the very near future.

This is actually an interesting idea. It is better than all the dick pic suggestions. I'll be curious to see if you are right.

Good article, I enjoyed the insight into this process. Seems a bit convoluted, and a little surprising that MS wasn't better prepared for the harsh but very predictable questions and criticisms. To answer your survey,

Oh I totally agree, I've played through twice, both republic and imperial stories. I am more just pointing out the fact that Kotaku seems content to let major content releases go unreported on and unreviewed, but small bugs that affect 150 users for less than 48 hours get article coverage.

So Mike, I take it no one at Kotaku is going to be covering SWTOR's expansion pack, Rise of the Hutt Cartel? Any kind of review or "Yes or No"? I find it surprising that an expansion pack went completely unreviewed at launch. The most recent articles I can find about SWTOR are from a while ago, detailing the same-sex

Lost Odyssey 2 would be enough to make me seriously consider buying an Xbone.

I am really hoping Nintendo has some kind of blow-out reveal and steals the show at E3. I know it seems unlikely, but Nintendo is the underdog already this(next) gen and I want to see them successful enough to continue making hardware.

Tell that to Red Dead Redemption. If that game launched in 2014 on PC, it would still sell millions of copies.

This is glorious. Please, give more of this. Turian Jedi and Quarian Sith lords. Please oh please!

Now playing

Obligatory super-dog post. If CoD DoG can't do parkour then I'm not interested.

Hmm, given COD's fetish for controversy, yeah, that dog is in for a bumpy ride. Right at the end of the game, expect heroic dog sacrifices to be made.

Yup, as an xbox gamer, all I can say is I am disappointed. I don't think there is enough fan pushback to convince MS to change any of these features though. I was the pre-ordering early-adopter type of fan, and now I just feel like I'm done with the xbox platform.

Ok Nintendo, there is blood in the water. Now is your time to strike. Surprise blowout at E3, GO!

I am happy to engage in civil conversation, but from the start, this guy hasn't been remotely civil, just presumptuous and condescending, of which I have no patience for. As I have written, I am an Xbox owner who was excited for the next generation reveal today, but this is a make-or-break feature, as is the online

Blast Corps was absurdly good, it had no business being that addictive. I rented that game 3 weeks in a row before I finally bought it. But yeah, I think Perfect Dark is the most likely candidate. Seems appropriate to be another Xbox launch title.
