Yeah, I loved my PSP for all of 3 games and then never used it for 2 years. Its tough buying a mobile platform, they rarely live up to their potential.

Man, this makes me want to buy a Vita. Most spin-off games don't seem like they have their own identity, but Aveline looks like a character I'd really like to play as.

Yeah I definitely agree that there are diminishing returns on how much we getting out of hardware and that this next console gen will have the lowest returns yet. At this point, consoles are just low-end computers that benefit from having standardized hardware.

I'm pretty sure its true. Our GPU hardware is way out ahead of anything consoles can do. I'm not even a PC elitist (I own and love my xbox) but its not remotely fair to compare something like the GTX 680 to an Xbox or PS3. The top end GPU hardware we have isn't being designed for at all. Only rarely will devs actually

I hope it happens. I haven't even played this game yet, but I love mod success stories, and there hasn't been anything on the scale of DayZ's success in many years. The name recognition is already strong enough that I'm sure they'd sell more than 100k units on each console.

Oh god, is this a JRPG without random encounters? I love it already. I am drooling.

I love Mistalker and Sakaguchi and I can't wait to play this game. The problem is I don't own a Wii and am waiting to buy a WiiU to play this. I hope it is compatible.

I am wondering if graphics will ever hit a plateau. Right now the only reason graphic fidelity in gaming isn't moving faster is because of console limitations. I would like to see the game industry hit a graphical plateau for 10 or 20 years so that they can focus on other content and aspects of design. I'm not saying

Exactly, the real consequence of death makes playing so much more intense. Every single encounter is life or death and the risk of everything you've accomplished and survived thus far. I really wish more games would make use of consequences and penalties like permadeath.

"Developers Lunar Software have revealed the title at this year's GamesCom, and while firmer details are scant, we do know the game is going for a terrifying level of realism, with no HUD, no points, no health bars, no health pack, no multiple lives...just the chilling finality of permadeath."

Yes, great for me. The best for me.

I'm sure its sexist some how, but I loved that commercial. Beautiful sisters playing video games and talking trash. That makes me want to buy a 3DS.

Actually, just a follow up point. I don't think customers have demonstrated that they won't buy games with nonwhite male protagonists. I think the issue is that customers have overwhelmingly demonstrated that they will buy games with darkhair white male protagonists. And that is enough of a blueprint for the game

I don't know. I certainly don't avoid those games. There aren't many games with non-white male protagonists, but I know many people bought GTA San Andreas with a black protagonist. I think there is probably reluctance from some customers, but the weight of the GTA franchise was enough to push through most of that.

As a dark haired white guy, I totally agree. I'm so sick of the whitewashed protagonists because devs and publishers are afraid they can't sell their game without a dark haired white guy.

Ah, I haven't really followed fighting games since the 16 bit era. Clearly I was wrong about Smash Bros being the only "mascot fighter" of its kind. I didn't even know that was a term or genre. Okay, well then I shouldn't be so hard on Sony for making a mascot fighter.

hmm, to be fair, I haven't paid attention to fighting games in many years, but I can't think of anything else like Smash bros in terms of platform exclusive characters making up the roster. The closest I can think of is Soul Calibur games having platform unique characters, but even that was a while ago. I suppose

lol, did I criticize your favorite corporation? You seem mad.

I still can't believe Sony is so unapologetic about aping Smash Bros. This still just feels like some parody or joke, and not a real 60$ game being made.

That doesn't seem to work out too well for Desmond...
