It's a really sharp movie and you're not likely to get all the jokes in one viewing. The DVD extras are great too.

I have seen Children Of Men about a half dozen times and the story is surprisingly complex, developing with whispers between the characters. Also, the scenes are so complex, many ~5 minutes long in one take, that I always discover new cool things when I rewatch it.
