They can re-zero the airframe, making it as if it hasn’t flown and been wore down yet. The Israelis do it all the time, F4s, Mirages. Its doable, practical, and inexpensive (compared to F35, especially so).

I don’t follow NASCAR, but the whole “rubbin’s racin’” seems to be some kind of tradition. If it were up to me, that’d be unsportsmanlike conduct, but it’s not my call. Might as well enjoy it for what it is.

So then it’s ok to bump someone while he’s passing you too? And just basically if someone is able to run into you they can? Why not just bump the competing race car with your trailer truck in the pits and have everything settled even before the race?
