“I don’t want politics in my games” is, in of itself, a political statement. If Kotick says he doesn’t want politics in the games Activision-Blizzard makes, consider why he doesn’t want you to think about policy in the games his corporation publishes.

“My responsibility is to make sure that our communities feel safe, secure, comfortable and satisfied and entertained,” he said. “And so I don’t—I don’t—that doesn’t convey to me the right to have a platform for a lot of political views, I don’t think. The overpaid head of a company that exploits tax laws across two hemispheres doesn’t want people to think too hard about policy. Imagine that

I can’t be the only person thinking that it’s weird that the first game after getting bought by Microsoft for this studio known for story-driven RPGs isn’t a story-driven RPG, right?

“Daddy, why must you leave me and go back to working for an herb?”

They killed it without any warning or send-off on purpose, to show that they not only didn’t respect or value Splinter, but that they had open contempt for its content and its staff.

Hey, look who’s here to remind everyone that the death of Splinter isn’t *all* bad.

Shutting down the only dedicated politics website in your portfolio right before the 2020 election, one of the most consequential of our lifetime, kicks into high gear. Essentially shutting down the second-most highly trafficked website in your portfolio because one out of every twenty five posts rankles you. I’m not

Splinter was a damn good website.

Yeah, that's a hard pass from me. Owning digital games is already nebulous in how much I actually own them. Buying a game without a disc, files or ability to use without an internet connection seems like a raw deal to me. Especially when Game Pass exists and does everything Stadia does but better.

Ya... the closer we get to this the more I think we’ll be seeing a flop of epic proportions on our hand. Not only are all these games already in peoples hands and the “Google Studios” exclusives a long way off, the tech limitations that I’ve been reading about really don’t seem to have been fixed. This is looking like
