Nailed that one. If you’re borrowing more than the annual 40%th percentile income salary for your education, you should either choose another field or choose a less expensive place to get a degree. Sad, but true.

Did they mention that most Bluetooth headphones have a lag of 300-500ms? That may not seem like a big deal when you’re listining to music, but it’s essentially impossible to watch a movie with BT headphones unless you get a video player that can adjust the for the encode/decode delay, and most can’t.
The very best BT…
The Note 7 is waterproof and has a headphone jack. It’s simply not necessary to make a phone waterproof.
“Revzin discovered an average of a 0.2 percent advantage for each lane a swimmer moved closer to 8. If that seems inconsequentially small, it’s worth pointing out that the winner in the women’s 50 meter freestyle only beat the sixth-place finisher by 0.12 seconds.”
To be honest, Forbes doesn’t work if you have an adblocker or java/javascript turned off. I couldn’t read the article without disabling all of that. It’s not worth it.
And...ad-walled. Still, without reading the article, he looks exceptionally talented. Never take advice from talented people or anyone who is the “top in the world.”
You can’t learn talent. And because they’re talented, truly talented people don’t actually know how to teach someone who has little natural or innate…
I’ll usually pay cash unless I can get 2c/mile or better. With new restrictions, fewer flights, and higher mileage for rewards, that’s getting harder to do. For me it’s almost not worth playing the game anymore. The only real advantage (which is also disappearing) is that the cancellation “fee” is lower to put your…
Easy one: get a new Chase credit card (free, annual fee waived), spend $5000 in the first three months and get a voucher for $500 in stuff (gift cards, check, airline miles for an $800 flight for free).
Those things weren’t actually free. They were paid for by the marketing dollars of people who want a share of your (now presumably larger) wealth. The higher you go, the more “free” stuff you get, in hopes of luring you into dropping a wad of cash (or debt) on something you don’t need.
For me it has all of the business cards I get - with little hand notes and details added. I’ve never had to enter any of that information - I scan the card into a DB folder and IFTTT puts it in a notebook. Then it’s instantly searchable. I’m not sure how that will trasfer to OneNote if I jump.
It’s easy to hate on MS, and they have had their share of failures and missteps (see the recent downgrade of free space, and the reduction of unlimited paid space to 1TB). And they do some really boneheaded things, like having 3 defined grid spacings in ON, none of which are 1/4" scale. 1/4" ruled paper is common is…
Sorry for the super-late reply. Since Kinja went to moderated comments, the whole place just went into a dead zone for interactiveness. Anyway...
Pro-tip: empty your water bottle before going through security, then fill it up at a water fountain (presuming you can trust the water, or carry a filter) after you’re in the clean zone. I bring an empty 1L SmartWater with me to the airport. Once past security I fill it. The SmartWater bottles are a heavier gauge…
I’ve been taken in by several MT songs and I couldn’t really place it - though the “black” pronunciations did throw me. It’s not just the g’s - whe drops her r’s and sings them as w’s. I have two girls in my pop choir that do the same thing when they solo and it bugs the shit out of me (but I don’t want them singing…
There’s only one summer drink you need. Whose for “totin’ da fohty” with me this summer?
Oh - that 30Mbps is $70/mo, 50Mb is $90, and 100Mb is $130. Without cable TV. The Promos I get are usually around $90 for 50Mb service, and it includes all the channels you never watch and HBO (which...except for GoT, which I stream, I never watch). The only advantage is that for an exrta $10 I used to be able to add…
Plus internet fast enough to stream. For most of the country, fiber is not available, and for a good portion of the country you get a single provider with enough bandwidth to stream. And that provider? Your cable company. For 90%* of the year, it’s cheaper for me to buy streaming-speed internet from Comcast for LESS…
Funny, that’s how I refer to Starbucks brew.
Is making a presentation not a thing anymore? Do you all just email your TPS reports in and call it a day?
Being able to clearly present your ideas in a concise and accurate manner, as well as field questions - especially from a room full of senior people - is pretty darned critical in my book.
40% of Americans believe that the earth and everything on it was created between 6000 and 10000 years ago. You can believe whatever you like.
