I’m still trying to figure out why I have LastPass on my Android device. It seems that, no matter the settings, I have to put in my (complex) master password every time I use it. And to add insult to injury, after I log in, it doesn’t fill out the username and password in the app/page I’m on, it opens the (embedded)

He mentioned who it was. Those who know, know. I once tried to apply for a job there, and they replied formally that they did not employ anyone in my field. The person who suggested I apply happened to work there. In that field.

Yup - just reduce/omit the H20 filler and separate the ice. The only way you get a subzero temp is through melting. If ice isn’t in the cards (i.e. chilled but not on the rocks) Pre-chill a vacuum thermos in the freezer and fill with the sans-ice mix. It’ll last for quite a while, but won’t be nearly as spiffy looking

Dang, I do the exact same thing! My favorite “make ahead” cocktails are:

Ugh - that’s awful. Makes you want to give them the toddler, walk back on the plan, and call 911 saying that someone at the airport has taken your child from you and give them the gate agents name and description.

Yup - and once you get down into partial eggs, there are almost no recipes (which can be made in such small quantities) which will be adversely affected by +/- 1/4 egg.

Day 1 is not too soon to start looking, but it’s nice to at least give them the 90 days probation they offer to you before you jump.

“you can coerce your current employer into a bigger raise or title to get you to stay.”

How? Or, perhaps, where are you buying good, freshly roasted coffee that cheaply? I noted above that the beans I buy are about $13-15/lb, which is pretty typical of local shops or 1-3lb mail order amounts (not including shipping). At 17g a shot, there are only 26 shots in a pound of beans (50-60c vs 75c per pod).

The work involved? Wow, that’s pretty darned lazy if she’s only involved in grinding and pulling (okay, that sounded bad). I find pulling a shot is on par with - often a bit faster/easier than - a cup using an Aeropress. And for a single cup it’s no more effort than making a small pot in a cheap drip machine.

Not sure why 65c/pod is considered expensive. I use 17g of beans in a regular (double) espresso, and at $13-15/lb from my local roaster, that’s close to 55-60c a shot. Short of buying green beans and roasting them yourself it’s not going to get much cheaper.

Oh, we’ve had fun vacations - just not globe-trotting expensive ones. And for a good number of those years we had a small child who would neither appreciate nor remember time spent on the Riviera or in the Maldives. Now she’s almost a teen and we *can* do the more expensive locations. In hindsight, I can say that I

I am your 45 (okay 46) year old self, and my house is paid off; been paid off for 3 years. Paying extra each month, or stroking a check to the mortgage company for $10k a couple times a year instead of blowing it on a facebook-jealousy-inducing vacation may have kept me from being part of the cool crowd. But can I

I’ve worked on about 20 installations in the past two years. Only 3-4 were metal roofs. The rest will be in for a costly surprise in 10-20 years.

Sorry - should have said brand, not designer - I consider them designer because they’re designed for flavor with the added minerals. There are indeed filtered waters, but many of the cheapest are just bottle from a muni source.

It works if you get a small system and can get significant governmental subsidies. When government pays for most of you bill, it usually works out in your favor. If you have to buy at market rates, you’re better staying with other investments.

I’m arguing on the basic merits. You’re including a gift available only some some. By all means you should optimize your installation, and it may work for you. But don’t generalize that Solar is awesome because you’re getting a special deal.

Well, that’s for designer waters such as Dasani or Smart. A lot of the cheap stuff it is straight out of the municipal tap source, dropped into bottle without any filtering, purification, or augmentation. Not that that’s necessarily bad - muni water is usually pretty decent, and there are no nutrients in the water to

You’ve never had to replace shingles on a roof with solar panels have you? I work in the construction industry. Homeowners are generally very unhappy that it will cost more than the original installation (not including the parts, of course) to remove and replace his panels, plus the new roofing costs.

It does make sense in some areas. Having someone else buy them for you (aka subsidies) always makes for a nice investment. SoCal, with high power rates and lots of sun is a good place.
