So, I was talking with my boyfriend about possible dystopian novel topics that I'd be interested in writing, and then I realized that I think reading a bunch of different novels within the genre would be a good place to start for inspiration.

My mom did too! I was in 6th grade, and I think she recommended it so there would be a "worse" mother than her front and center in my mind. (not that she was bad. Just that teenagers hate their parents.)

I feel your pain. I moved to DC a few years ago and my best (slutty) friend from college lives here as well. Except now she's not slutty anymore.
