Love that site a little too much. I've been telling everyone I know that they need to start reading it.

So my mom's in town, and I'm happy for her to be here, but she keeps bringing up the fact that I'm single. I have a job I love in a city I've always wanted to live in, but she keeps being like "well you'd really be happy if you had a guy". I wish she could understand that that is not how I base my life!

I haven't heard the term before either. This is what Urban Dictionary says: "Based on the central character in the Eminem song of the same name, a "stan" is an overzealous maniacal fan for any celebrity or athlete."

I hate what a "dirty" word feminism has become in some circles. My feminism has become something I bring up very early on dates by straight up asking the man I'm with if he views himself as a feminist. Because if he doesn't he's either ignorant or doesn't share views I agree with.

The depressed wasn't about this article, it was about pas Jezebel pieces.

I'm not even a mother and it's one of my biggest pet peeves when people compare children to animals. Animals are fantastic, but NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE SAME THING!

Down the Jezebel hole again: complain that so many articles/studies/movies are based on mothers being depressed, yet continue to publish on the apparent shitty life of a parent.

Thanks for pointing that out! I think that's the biggest problem. I hate that girl things are seen as lesser. It's okay, and even encouraged ("by society") for a girl to be interested in sports and deemed a tomboy, but (for most people) it's a negative for a boy to be interested in "traditionally feminine" things,

I agree that their execution was wrong, but years of research went into the design (specific reasons why the dolls are larger, etc.) and I felt that a lot of the backlash from the kits almost implied that "girl" things are negative and "boy" things should be kept the same. (yes I know legos are supposed to be gender

Completely agree! Kinda felt the same way with all the Lego controversy that came up recently. I loved regular Legos growing up, but I would have been super excited about the new line that was targeted at girls.

I work in tech and Wired is one of my favorite publications, it is regularly well written and easily explains complicated topics. While I am a strong believer that more women should be encouraged to enter technology and that having women more frequently on the cover would help show female techie's current contribution

I hate myself for knowing this, but I think it's in the episode called "Running Zack" where they all study their heritage and Zack finds out his family is Native American.

Or when Jessie Spano found out her family traded slaves on "Saved By The Bell".

sidereel.com does a good job of providing streaming sites.

Most 20-somethings I know (myself included) don't have cable, but we know the internet and can easily get out hands on anything HBO puts out.

They post the week's episodes on there but that's about it.

Also on hulu. That's how I get my GH fix.

I've watched GH since I was 8 years old- the Lucky/Elizabeth relationship had a huge effect on my early teen years. I could not be happier for another year!

Completely agree! I love The Masters. I look forward to it every year and my family has had tickets since the 50s, so I've been lucky enough to go a few times. And while when I was in my teens I was outraged that women weren't allowed to join, as I got older I realized that women not being able to join is irrelevant

I got my first raise this week! So excited for it. I've been at this job (my first "big girl" job) for about 6 months and it felt really nice to know that my work is being appreciated.
