They might start at 21% but after all their reductions their actual tax rates are in the low teens. That’s if they aren’t big enough to avoid paying anything at all.

Neutral: I would mandate the following: All OEMs must meet strict quotas of cars with actual colors. 27% of all vehicle sales must be electric blue, lime green, or a very vivid yellow or face penalties ranging from 2 years of being forced to drive a ‘78 Mustang II with a slush box, up to being required to lay naked,…
I’m a classic Renault fanboy from Europe and sometimes I wish I could travel back in time to ask Renault executives from the 80s what the fuck they were thinking and/or snorting when they decided what cars to release in the USA. The Encore/Alliance’s european brothers were decent cars that sold well, but you didn’t…
This is almost no money for an incredibly rare, honest and interesting car. Would be a ton of fun for cars and coffee and a few bucks to fix the bumper and you’re taking a Radwood trophy home, no question. Seeing the Clio and who knows what else in the last photo shows this is a collector and someone with genuine…
And now they won’t even make spare parts... At least they have a few in their museum and stuff. A friend of mine tells me he even got to tour a BMW factory in one!
I actually really like the crazy things, so I agree it should be saved. I also agree with you, car restoration is all about love because 99% of the time it makes no economic sense. So I was just warning that this will be a money pit.
“Subaru of America did deny the existence of the 360 for a long time.”
I own a Yugo, and I’ve read that book. It’s a fantastic read, and I suspect even non-Yugo owners would like it.
The whole story of Malcolm Bricklin and his involvement in the auto industry is just strange - he’s accurately described as a PT Barnum type. There’s a book about the Yugo that spends a good chunk of time talking about the Subaru US operation and the 360 story - worth a read.
And yet when you take into account births and people moving into California (Both from abroad and from other states), the population still went UP by ~150k in 2019.
211,000 people is 0.53% of California’s total population. Yes, MASS exodus that should shame all remaining Californians. Please write your thesis on this utter failure of a state to retain its citizens.
Cost of living is typically higher in places people want to live.
So I wrote a rage post over at Oppo.
Oh please, Game of Thrones was so ‘bad’ that Jezebel ran a detailed report of each new episode to discuss how ‘bad’ it was. And these guys were so terrible that everyone thought Game of Thrones sucked right from the beginning. Which is why they made like 8 seasons of it. Which everyone hated.
Other than the windshield, it all looks like flat tempered glass. It would be relatively easy to have the windows made to the correct dimensions, and a decent graphics shop could make some stencils for whatever brand etching you needed (if you wanted to go that far). That’s one nice thing about restoring cars this…
When I was little, I asked my dad how, in such a tiny building, they were able to process photos. After all, he had a darkroom at home, and it was way bigger than this. He told me, “It’s underground, in a basement, like mine. They go down some stairs into it, and print the photos there.” I believed him for longer than…
Powerful jacks are for jumping chasms, destroyed bridges thing like that. Essential for beating the Car Acrobatic Team. It’s almost like you’ve never watched Speed Racer.
I think Musk is a douche, but while he is worth billions, at least it is from a tangible product that gets produced here in America. I'm more resentful of how rich people get by adding zero value to society, only robbing from it. Looking at you Stamford/Darien/Greenwich/Bridgeport/NYC
