I don’t believe the Pinto was preceded by a concept car. And, the Pinto was a terrific little car actually. Incredibly reliable. The fuel tank thing was a bad mistake, but no more people died in Pintos than any other compact built at the time. Cars were just not as safe back then.

Supras were always ugly, though, so it’s keeping with tradition.

Can we start calling her music terribly overrated, yet? I find it unlistenable. 

One Dennis is worth it. (Almost.) 

They’re an absolute hoot. Definitely not all that speedy, but it doesn’t matter when the top is off and you’re that low and the car handles like the 914 does.

Except for the Pagani, these are all mind numbingly boring. How does anyone stay awake driving any of these cars?

I’d say it goes back to the Grand Wagoneer. AMC took a workhorse, made it comfy, gave it some luxury pretensions, and turned it into a status symbol.

The fallout from Unsafe at Any Speed was literally millions of lives saved and much much better cars. That presidential run may have had an unfortunate result, but Ralph Nader is a true American hero. There was no such thing as consumer advocacy until he came along.

The Ford Cortina’s iconic taillights are one of my favorites.

Firetrucks and ambulances have been kept from burning houses and heart attack victims? Can you provide a source for this?

Haven’t bands like this existed for as long as there’s been a music industry? A lot of our favorite musicians and bands have been industry plants by this definition. It’s just a fact. This band just happens to be particularly lousy.

You didn’t say what? Because I think you did quite clearly. Blocking a roadway and throwing tea is the same thing. It’s sad you don’t understand this. Or what you’re talking about in general. 

Demonstrating against systemic racism is being “butthurt?” Go fuck yourself. This country was founded by disruptive demonstrators. And how many times have you ever been inconvenienced by a protest? Again, you are an asshole with bad opinions.

I was a little kid. Star Wars had just come out and then I saw a 928. It looked like a spaceship. I couldn’t figure out how the headlights worked. The pascha interior made your head spin. It was the car that made me notice that cars could be cool.

Why do you want something that other people enjoy to go away? How does it hurt you that manuals exist? Just because you’ve never been able to master the skill doesn’t mean you have to be a baby about it. Let other people enjoy their manuals and you can pretend you like having a car drive you. People like to make fun…
