Masterworks these aren’t, you CAN go wrong.
My only hope is that they mean it when they say no two of these derelicts will be the same, and these freighter “dungeons” will have some actual variety to them.
I love the game, but my biggest complaint has been that there’s a LOT of stuff, but only ONE of everything. Every crashed freighter is identical, with the…
No, no, he’s amphibious about his his fame.
Agreed, but I feel like in a case like Far Cry, it can be a decision that feels like a narrative choice, but all it really does is change the first mission or something. Like, it could set you going in a different direction, drop you off at a different end of the map, or whatever. Reveal a side mission sooner rather…
If it just ends the game, then I’d rather that not be what happens. When it comes to giving the player choices in games, ones like this are really no different than “Continue playing or Quit?” It’s not player choice if the only options are “play” and “don’t play.”
Thanks!
Update: Ubisoft has released a statement saying they’ll give the rewards to everyone with a Ubisoft account “as soon as we can.” So, it might take more than a day until the game shows up.
I’ll have to give the 4th one a shot sometime. I played the third game AFTER Blood Dragon, which I loved, and then Far Cry 2, which I REALLY loved, and the 4th came out around that time, and I just recall people saying it wasn’t much different from 3 (which I enjoyed somewhat, but the least of the bunch so far, and it…
I don’t know if it was devious or anything. I mean, it’s of course fair to say that the offer of a free game was bait to get people to watch the stream—that’s what bait is, an incentive. It wasn’t CLICKbait, it wasn’t a lie, it was upfront about what you’d get and what you needed to do to get it. Since the giveaway…
The game was only ever going to show up on the 13th to begin with according to the original instructions for getting the game, even if things had gone as planned. So no need to bother checking today, but if it doesn’t show up before the end of tomorrow, then look into it (though who knows, maybe they’ll make another…
Odds you play as the kid seem confirmed for zero since screenshots show you play as another character. Doesn’t rule out that maybe the player gets to make decisions for this kid at crucial moments like with the grenade, which would still be cool if it alters gameplay/story, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Ah, I didn’t even know the fourth game had that! I haven’t played 4, but I knew about the opening of the game, where you can sit for 10 minutes to enjoy the crab rangoon. Did it affect the ending to the story, that sort of thing?
I remember the second game had bits where missions gave you the option to play them out…
So what are the odds in Far Cry 6 that you play as the kid and you first have to decide what to do with the grenade (like how in previous games if you did nothing you’d see a “secret” ending)?
If you’re given that choice and the game actually continues, that might be kinda neat, and provide for two narrative paths to…
Edit: The stream now says they’re giving the rewards to everyone even if you couldn’t log in.
From what I understand, just being logged into the client doesn’t count. You have to be logged into the livestream. I’m logged into the client, but the window with the stream won’t let me login. From the Uplay app I click on the stream and it opens a browser window that doesn’t have me logged in. The login window…
If you’re actually logged in, then you should qualify. I’ve had the pop-up login window say I’m logged in one moment, but then won’t register that I’m logged in for the presentation. So who knows.
Not only can people not login, but they have game rewards tied to how much of the presentation you watch *while logged in.* So if you want that axe for Valhalla, good luck getting logged in while there’s still 40 minutes of the presentation left.
Ah, thought this game was Table Manner Lords.
