I've seen similar reactions to other Kickstarters, mostly for video games or comics, where the person/people are doing the Kickstarter because they couldn't find a publisher for their book or game, but then after their successful campaign they actually do find a publisher.

So... was this prank FOR anything? The website they had for "HUVR" focused on the mobile app a bunch, so I figured it would end up being a viral video to promote a virtual hover board game or app that can track stats about your travels/movements/whatever, akin to something along the lines of FourSquare.
