I do want to see Dern in that role. I'm not in the target demo either (I read Deadspin, for example), but liked the book. I guess it's my age, but I found myself drifting between identifying with the teens and identifying with their parents. I loved the way we wrote the parents as seen through typical teen eyes

Yeah, as that guy above says, you can read it in a quick weekend.

Have any baseball nerds checked in to say that they prefer 3 outs on 3 pitches? Great.

Yeah, nothing like getting all fired up about the overwhelming odds-on favorite coming through. Bold. Might as well stand at the casino door and cheer for the house.

I don't think this is a "can't have it both ways" situation at all. It's an "either way" situation. The NBA can see those statements as a sign that he's mentally incapable or conclude that he's perfectly capable but horribly racist. And EITHER works as a reasonable basis for them to boot him out of their club.

I know this doesn't solve the whole problem - but maybe it's time to dump bobsleigh/luge. The cost isn't worth it for a structure that isn't going to have any lasting value.

Cleveland is disappointed at being left out of this conversation: 2 WS wins, 3 WS losses, 6 other postseason appearances.

The race doesn't sell out? I don't care about these 4, but I would if I got excluded from an event that was supposedly full.

If that article is an attack on the owners, it is exceptionally mild one. Is that what counts for defamation in Canada?

Needs more, or any, drama.

Love the mites. It also works ok for basketball also.

One of the obvious points is that these stats aren't "advanced" by any definition. That label isn't helpful, nor is naming these things after people. It would a simpler discussion if the stats were named with a label that included the word "shots" or "possession."

Agree 100%. I like the game, but it's too damn long of course. I was watching and they took 3 or 4 minutes to review a standard tag play on a stolen base. I can live with the uncertainty of the umpires call in those situations. Just keep it moving.

It was a twitter photo search, no? But what set of terms could possible have turned up that set of results.

Hmm, to Seattle or Toronto?

Ha, oh man, you are fun. So your point is that these NHL fans are racist because...racist NHL fans, but not everybody, claim that Dirk is tougher than Kobe and Garnett. Fantastic.

OK, sure man, Dirk is considered to be tougher than Kobe, ha ha. We should all be angry about this made up fact.

Aw, have sports fans on the internet and twitter been mean to NBA players? Teased them a little too much? That's not nice at all. Please stop.
