A cheaper iPhone would be less about the U.S. market, which is subsidized contract based, and more about the European and emerging market areas, like China and Brazil.

It's called an iPod Touch, and it's even capable of Skype calls over wifi.

So without the ten free songs, it basically becomes like every other streaming music service out there, just competing on price, right?

I think you're seeing political agendas that aren't there. I challenge you to comb through the whole article and find anything related to national politics, much less the President's proposed jobs bill.

Looks okay, I guess, but for my next phone, I'm likely going to Android. I'm coming from a Symbian phone, so I need that customization.

I generally like the UI, I've used it on a Zune, but, yes, it does feel bland and overly simplistic after a while. It's like the Fisher Price version of a smart phone.

Maybe so, but once they sell off the PC division and since the mobile devices division is sacked, there's really no reason for people like us on this blog, gadget lovers, to care about H-P or follow the company.

How is that a political jab? That she's a failed gubernatorial candidate isn't opinion, it's fact.

I think she's totally going to run H-P into the ground, even more than it already has been.

Yeah, Whitman is totally not the answer.

The old medianet unlimited plan.

If H-P really wanted a product visionary in charge, may I suggest Rubenstein for the top job?

That's nice for current Death Star subscribers under contract or due for an upgrade.

I don't see how Meg Whitman is anymore right for H-P than Apotheker.

Will any new iPod refresh be part of the same event? I'm holding out for a 128 GB Touch.

Yeah, this isn't much of a deal at all. It's only a faux inducement to sucker you into a two year contract.

Nah, not really. As someone else has already pointed out, you still have to subscribe to Microsoft's Xbox Gold package, aside from whatever monthly subscription you pay to Netflix, Comcast or Verizon.

You kind of unknowingly highlighted their streaming catalogue problem in your comment. They have a good selection of TV shows, but their streaming movie library blows.

Like some others here, considering how tame the photos were (part of a breast, a flattering backside shot), I suspect these were leaked photos from Johansson's PR people, to get her name out there, and to stay relevant with studio casting agents.

Well, let's hope that Microsoft bring their A-game here.
