@shufflemoomin: I'm doubting that the bane of magazine publishers are PDF versions of their products on torrent sites.

@AxelFonze: True, but nothing is ever really "future proof". Otherwise, manufacturers wouldn't be very profitable.

@hostile-17: Although I generally agree, I tend to balk at the word "invest" when it comes to disposable consumer tech gadgets.

Really, it doesn't take a genius to realize that when publishers charge the same or MORE for a digital copy of a magazine, as the print copy, shocker (!!), sales won't take off.

@Zelyre: Crap, when did going to the movies get so fracking expensive?

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of purchases going through my carrier. I don't trust AT&T as far as I could throw them, as it is.

@matthew.prose: That doesn't work anymore. They got wise to it. Cablevision, for example, now requires *their own* box on each to TV to get a working signal.

@JMH: NYC, right? At least the outer burroughs (parts of Queens, like Bayside and Little Neck) have the option of Fios.

@Beef-Teeth: That's a great deal; the problem is that for many people outside of urban/metro areas, i.e. the suburbs, the reception from T-Mo is spotty at best.

@highfloydelity: Yeah, they did stop selling those. You can even barely find one on Ebay.

I use a buggy application called UpCode on my Nokia E72. It's slow, it works only occasionally and is nowhere as slick as the examples in this article.

Okay, so which of the two methods lets you watch, say, a NY Giants game in Italy or the UK?

One of the best deals that you can get on a new TV is if you go for a 42 inch, 1080p plasma, made by Panasonic or Samsung.

@John Crane: It's okay, because we're into ourselves.

The only thing that would make the Spidey reboot worth watching, is a great script.

I'm sure 4G will be great for some, but for me, for now, I don't a carrier bending me over with crazy 4G data plans. Thanks, but I have a bank account to care for.

@pjcard: Just because you don't like copyright law, doesn't give anybody the right to take it.

@Richard Servello: Um, no. It's transfer of ownership, even for spare change at a garage sale, and totally and completely legal. Otherwise, yard sales, library sales, even second hand thrift stores and used CD stores, would be illegal.
