@RobotVampire: Mine too.
@RobotVampire: Mine too.
Even if they saw the change coming, Sony couldn't have created 'an iPod' before Apple anyway. The fact that they own content companies—-music and movie studios—-tied their hands. They were scared to death of upsetting the apple cart (yuck, yuck) and gutting the then-easy music industry profits.
@bdinger: Yeah, even I have a Zune 80 and I wouldn't get a Zune HD. Microsoft's WP7 and its focus on that platform, makes the HD a dead end device.
@maven2k: The difference between headphone jack out and real audio out? Lots of people.
@verditsgerman: But could it do real 'audio out', getting clean audio by bypassing the internal amp, like the iPods? Plugging a cable into the head phone jack, isn't a great audio out solution.
It looks great...but people keep missing what makes iPods the huge sellers that they are: the ecosystem.
It looks nice enough, but the smart thing to do, as consumers, is to wait it out a year to see how Microsoft updates the platform and firmware.
@anna.martin: (Raises hand) Hey, Anna, I have a buggy, crashy Nokia E72.
For those complaining about Gizmodo not reviewing the N8, they essentially just did.
@Link2187: You do understand them perfectly. Carriers construct them to confuse you on purpose.
"All in all, it's not nearly as bad as it could have been..."
Another way to go: buy a big, honking gaming desktop.
@Ccomfort: It isn't, it's called hypocrisy.... and I own a Zune 80.
Except that the G2 is on T-Mobile.
@zenpoet: It might sound like a great idea....until you realize that any teen can do this with an off-the-shelf dumbphone, bought from, like, a 7-11.
@stan-the-man: They kind of almost managed it with Maemo, but for some bizarre reason, ditched it and started over to co-develop an OS with Intel.
@Woozle Wozzle: Yeah, but it's true.
I like the UI look and I'm sure the user experience is fine, but the hardware is underwhelming IMO.
@Charliehorse: (Raises hand)
Wait, wait...!
