This is a G damn deal!!! The crazy old guy I spoke with had one of these at a car show. While back. (Poor respray, but lower miles) and he wanted 19k for it. Nearly the same car. Red over black.

I stopped with my 3rd VW years ago when my engine was one of about 250k that burned oil and had issues. The product quality just wasn't there from a mechanical standpoint for me...those interiors though...they were made so well. My 2002 Passat interior is still one of my favorite all time.

So the question is. How seriously will this damage VW? Fines...recalls...lost faith in the brand. What will the long term ramifications of this action be?

bent the frame may be a stretch...I creased the right frame rail...it looked like you took a hammer and flattened a 3in section. Regardless...I got in a fair amount of trouble for that stunt.

Great story...great photo. I love how he just casually showed up and sauntered in for the photo. The former HS and (some) college long jumper in me is blown away by the distance. Amazing!
