Check out the 2nd gen section over there. A guy's got one that's putting about 300 HP to the pavement, I think he's spent all of 3 grand so far.

If I hadn't just bought a project, I'd be sorely tempted.
Eh, more than a handful is just wasted.
What can I say? Young and stupid. I was in Memphis being taught how to drive big rigs. Six of us had decided to go down to Luby's Cafeteria after we were done at the driving range.
This kind of stuff is why I stopped checking this site at work a LONG time ago.
We did seven in a 1987 Escort wagon. All big guys too. One had to ride on the roof rack though. Thank God I didn't get pulled over...
Me too. It was a pristine car other than the bad transmission. It was funny and sad to see it roll through again and again.
I just unloaded a '99 C70 convertible for the same reason. I feel your pain.
I just traded my European convertible for a Jeep and a 300zx turbo. Never thought of trying to trade in a wife or a girlfriend. Hmm....
You'll appreciate this: I work part time for a used car lot. Months ago we picked up an early 90s 4matic wagon. Looked pristine...but the transmission was shot.
What's the old joke? There is nothing quite so expensive as a cheap luxury car.
A good friend has one. Nice car. It is parked because he is trying to source brake calipers. His is a hunter green 4.5L.
Fun car to drive too. I'm not a BMW guy and I like 'em.
Monday the 12th I sold this little gem because parts and repairs were eating me alive. If I'd hit Powerball this week I would have cheerfully bought it back. Looked great, and people were always stopping me to tell me so. A sheer joy to drive on nice days.
Yes, I've seen 'em prowling the interstate when I'm out working.
Okay, ex-trucker here. I've seen what happens to the big SUVs and pickups when they tangle with one of the big rigs. The results aren't much better. Yeah, an Explorer is a substantial truck, but it is still just a four wheeler. It weighs what? 5000 pounds or so?
Also drunks home in on lights, especially hazard lights or overheads. A lot of cops get rear ended every year this way.
Hilarious story: Years ago a friend had started a bikini car wash in the Atlanta Metro area. He said for me to come on by and see what I thought.
I'd love to see a car repair/mod section. Think about it:
I hope this won COTD when you posted it.
